est. 1976

W 41st St

A young couple purchased the 12th Street Milkyway in the late 1960s. Then, in 1976, they purchased a building on the West edge of Sioux Falls. This building was fronted by a gravel road and held a slough in the back, but this couple could see the potential in this area. They did some remodeling and opened the first expansion of the B & G Milkyway at 5508 W. 41st Street. Decades later, this location is still in operation today.

Best mom-and-pop soft serve ice cream in the world. Hands down. I’ve gone to B & G ever since I can remember. After every softball game in the summer, waiting in line to get my special dipped ice cream cone! A time-honored tradition in the area and in my family. I know many others in the area feel the same way. Sioux Falls just wouldn’t be the same without it. Summers wouldn’t be the same without it. If you’re not from here—and you’re passing through during the warmer months—this is a place you MUST stop at. Enjoy!!

Just a small building that is walk-up or drive-through. It’s amazingly good. Authentic, old-fashioned, thick shakes. Great food at an excellent price. There are several locations in Sioux Falls.

The ice cream is amazing, the service was incredible, and the ambiance was great! I would 100% recommend going here! There is a wide selection of ice cream and flavors. I’ve never had any problem here, it’s perfect!

THE BEST strawberry soft serve ice cream ever!!

In my opinion, B & G Milkyway is what an ice cream stand is SUPPOSED to be. Really good ice cream and efficient, courteous service. How they manage to find such competent, friendly high school kids when other businesses can’t has always impressed me.
